No More Guilt

Congratulations! You are part of the majority of women who know that they need to take care of themselves, but they constantly grapple with the obligations and responsibilities of life and that seems to win out most of the time.

It's ok! This is not your fault. However, remaining stuck feeling guilty for everything you try to do for yourself (aka self care) is no longer serving you. It's time to take charge of how you prioritize what YOU want in your life and letting go of the guilt is the crux of your dilemma.

Here's what the quiz results say about where you are now:

1. You consider yourself an on-again / off-again exerciser. You can go months where you are humming along in a routine, then whammo! something happens and you fall off track, making it nearly impossible to get back on.

2. You find yourself saying things like, "I know I need to workout and eat right, but I just don't have the time" or "My kids/family/career need my attention before I can do anything for myself. They seem to rule my life, but I secretly feel resentful about it." or you may say "If I can't workout x days a week, why even bother?"

3. You are afraid to put yourself first because everyone relies on you and you don't think the household or office could function right without you. (everyone depends on you!)

4. You often tie eating good & working out consistently together. Meaning, if you are working out, you'll also be "dieting" if you are not exercising, you might say "fuck it" when it comes to food.

5. You have tried all the diets; Weight Watchers, counting calories, counting macros, whole 30, paleo, keto, carb-cycling, intermittent fasting, juicing, cleansing, and everything in between, desperate to find a way of eating that gives you freedom from food obsession and gets you motivated to keep workouts in your life. (but none of these have worked for the long-term, otherwise you would have never taken this quiz!)

If you said YES to at least 1 of the above, you are in the right place reading this page. And there is hope! Lots of it.

Getting caught up in the food & fitness fight is a common dilemma among women who have HUGE adult responsibilities like raising kids or climbing the ladder in their career. (how can we not with our diet culture the way it is?)

The awesome news is that just by you taking this quiz (seeking freedom) I'm here to tell you, it IS possible for you to break free from the fight with food and working out as you find a way to loathe your body a bit less.... and dare I say actually start LIKING yourself, get more consistent with healthier choices of food and find a workout program you can stick to so you can finally appreciate what you see in the mirror everyday.

Consistency is what you are seeking the most and what's holding you back is the feeling of guilt and not believing you are worth putting yourself first in your life. So, it's time to work on releasing the feeling of GUILT.

Heres a powerful question to ask yourself:

What if "guilt" was not part of the equation? What would you be doing with your day if you did not experience GUILT for taking care of yourself FIRST?

If I can do it (& hundreds of women I've coached have done it) you have it within you to do it too! ... if you are finally fed up and you are ready to put the struggle behind you and learn how to put your needs at the top of your list, now's your time!

If you are like, "HELL YES Dana, I am ready to get over this shit" then take these 3 steps to unlock the next phase in your journey to freedom:

Step 1. Join My Community of Like-Minded Women

It's time to join a communitly of women who are working on their mindset, not just their abs.

What is "mindset" you ask?

Mindset is a set of attitudes & beliefs held by someone. In a nutshell, it's what you think and believe about yourself. Example: "What I want is not important" That is a mindset that will rule your life.

so....

Your solution is NOT in what you're DOING (or not doing), your solution is how & what you are THINKING.

Thoughts (THINKING) > Emotions (FEELING) > Actions/Habits (DOING) = Results

If you are constantly dong, doing, doing without stopping to examine what motivates you to do what you do, then this is a simple fix.

ALL behaviors begin with a thought.

Thoughts create an emotion inside of you & that emotion inspires you to do (or not do) certain things.

When certain thoughts are on auto-pilot, you just get more of the same, even when you are DOING MORE. It's like putting more logs on an already-burning fire.... you get a bigger, hotter fire... more of the same.

When you start at step one and just change one of your thoughts that are on auto-pilot, you have the power to change how you feel and therefore get a whole new outcome.

Example Thought: "I would love to get outside and take a walk later."
Emotion: Guilt & Resentment
Guilt because there are other things that need to be done that are more important.
Resentment because no one seems to care that everything is on your shoulders.
Action: The walk doesn't happen
Results: More of the same - Feel mentally exhausted from always having to step up and get things done and perhaps feeling angry about it. But, the cycle continues....

NEW THOUGHT: "I am taking a walk later. It will really help me feel better."
NEW Emotion: Happiness, Fulfillment & Gratitude
Action: Because you decided to take the time for yourself, you put yourself in a better frame of mind and step by step allow others around you to take on some responsibility because you are able to create healthy boundaries for yourself as you claim that you are worth it! The cycle continues...

ACTION FOR STEP 1 ------> It's time to get proper support. Join my free private RealFit.tv Fitness & Mindset Training Facebook Group to connect with other women who are changing their thinking in order to feel more confident about taking time for themselves.

Step 2. Unveil Your Limiting Beliefs

If a new set of thinking is part of your solution, then it is imperative for you to understand your own thinking and where it came from so that you can make releasing the guilt a reality.

Despite what you might think right now, let's get real for a moment..... You have come a long way in your life. You didn't get here by accident. In fact, it's worth investigating where those auto-pilot thoughts came from in the first place!

True, those auto-pilot thoughts were once a motivator. They got you started. They got you pushing yourself out of your comfort zone in an effort to improve yourself. They have served you well.

But, where did they even come from, these stories you tell yourself?

And, what are all the ways these limiting beliefs are holding you back that you might not even realize?

In order to change your thoughts deliberately and with intention without feeling like a fraud or a fake, it's vital that you know where they came from.

ACTION FOR STEP 2 ------> It's time to unveil your limiting beliefs & stories. Go through a sample of my Food & Fitness Freedom program where I take you through 5 short videos with simple (& fun) mindset exercises that have provided women just like you with the breakthroughs they have been yearning for when it comes to understanding their behavior around food and what keeps them from taking care of their bodies. Understand why you do what you do so that you can put it behind you & be free from the grips of food, fitness and body image issues once & for all.

Undertsanding yourself at a deeper level is the only way to get over your shit and live the life you want to live.

It's as simple as this: The more you know WHY you do what you do, the easier it is for you to make a new decision and finally change it.

Step 3. Try a DIFFERENT Workout Program

This step is about breaking the "on-gain / off-again" cycle by learning how important it is to find the right type of exercise plan, that involve the right movements in the right amounts for your unique body while being ok with skipping workout days... That's why our motto around here is #perfectlyimperfect Don't do the workouts you planned? ok... let that shit go & do the next one in your new plan.

Did you know that not every woman will respond well to running?

Just because you have a friend who go good results from it, does not mean it will work for you. ESPECIALLY if you are doing it because you "should" rather than because you "want" to. There's a big difference. But you know that! Because you know how it feels to start something and not feel inspired to stick with it. To actually feel pain, suffering and dare I say HATRED!

When you move your body in ways that support your happiness, (for example, running makes some women happy!) you get ore of the physical results you are looking for. This begins with how you treat yourself on the inside (see #2) and continues with the actions you take that support your new way of thinking (or the desire to think in a new way).

Allow me guide you through letting go of the guilt, obligation and wasting your time by instead, focusing on the nuances of how you are moving your body during your workout sessions. Yes, you'll learn to push yourself, but you'll also learn to respect your body so that you leave room to recover, rebuild, get stronger and leaner faster than ever before.

There is something called "Minimal Effective Dose, Maximal Effort" which means that the solution does not lie in doing MORE, it lies in striking a balance between doing the right things, in the right amount, and at the right time and letting go of the guilt of what you "should" be doing instead.

Get better results from your workouts by finding what I call "structured flexibility" What if it's not about working out 5 days a week & instead it's about doing what you can (& what you want to!) while you let go of the "shoulds."

ACTION FOR STEP 3 -------> Time to change up your workout style, approach and structure my friend! (to get different you must do different)
